 Vein Disease

Varicose veins are a common problem that affect both men and women. Typically, they become apparent because of the unwanted discoloration in the skin or because they are painful.

They are the result of faulty valves in the leg veins. The leg veins carry blood back to the heart. When you are sitting or standing, gravity causes the blood in the veins to flow backward toward the feet. The one-way valves in the legs prevent this from occurring. However, if the valves are not working correctly blood will flow toward the feet causing congestion in the veins. This results in painful, unsightly varicose veins.

Left untreated, varicose veins can result in poor circulation, increased pain and aching in the legs, the development of more varicose veins and ultimately skin ulceration can occur.

Creekside Vein and Laser uses innovative technologies to provide effective treatments that do not require anesthesia. All of the
treatments can be safely and comfortably performed in our office
with minimal downtime. Elimination of these abnormal veins reroutes blood to normal veins. This improves leg circulation and appearance, as well as, decreasing pain, swelling and aching.

Spider Veins

The superficial veins are usually a red color. They can be found on many areas of the body including the face, chest and legs. They usually do not cause symptoms but sometimes, you can experience itching, restless legs, and minor aches and pains. Spider veins can indicate the presence of a deeper more serious vein problem.

Treatment options include:
Sclerotherapy
Laser treatments

Varicose Veins

Varicose veins can be small to medium tortuous blue/green veins or large and bulging. People with severe varicose veins might experience a 15 – 20 % decrease in blood circulation back to the heart. More than 75% of varicose veins are hereditary. Other factors include pregnancy, prior injury, hormone treatments, obesity, prolonged sitting or standing.

Many people experience:

  • Pain
  • Swelling
  • Aching
  • Tired feeling
  • Fatigue
  • Leg ulcers
  • Itching
Treatments include:
Sclerotherapy
Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy
Endovenous Catheter Ablation

Varicose vein disease is progressive and has no cure. New varicose veins may develop at any time. We recommend regular follow up for all types of treatments.
