This procedure is often used to treat spider veins and small varicose veins. A sclerosant medication is painlessly injected into the diseased vein. This results in shrinking of the vein and diminished appearance or elimination of the vein. Two to five treatments are often required depending on the number of veins that need to be treated.
The benefits include:
- Painless
- No downtime
- No Scarring
- Long lasting
This is used to treat fine surface veins. The laser produces light energy that causes the vein to be diminished in appearance or to be eliminated altogether. The laser can be used on small red veins on the face, chest or legs. Two to three treatments are generally needed.
The benefits of laser treatments include:
- No bruising
- No downtime
- Long lasting
This is an advanced procedure to remove large bulging surface varicose veins. In ambulatory phlebectomy, the varicose veins are delicately removed through micro-incisions and closed without stitches. This is often more efficient than multiple sclerotherapy sessions to remove large bulging varicose veins.
The benefits of ambulatory phlebectomy include:
- Same day procedure done in our office
- Only local anesthetic is needed
- Rapid recovery within a day or two
- Virtually no scarring
- Significant relief of symptoms
Endovenous ablation with VNUS Closure is effective in treating larger varicose veins in the leg and thigh. A catheter is placed inside of the diseased vein using ultrasound. Radiofrequency energy is used to damage the wall of the vein. This causes the vein to close and eliminates the backward flow of blood to the bulging varicose veins. It is done in the office using local anesthetic with minimal discomfort.
Creekside Vein and Laser does not offer vein stripping. This is the older, traditional remedy for varicose veins. It is extremely invasive and requires considerable recovery time. Newer techniques, such as, VNUS Closure have been proven to be more effective with minimal discomfort and rapid recovery.
The benefits include:
- Less invasive
- Same day procedure done in our office
- Only local anesthetic is needed
- Rapid recovery within a day or two
- Little or no scarring
- Significant relief of symptoms
This technique is used to treat larger varicose veins. Ultrasound is used to precisely place a sclerosant medication into varicose vein branches that communicate with the deep veins. This effectively treats the problem at its source.
The benefits of ultrasound guided sclerotherapy include:
- It is essentially painless
- No downtime
- No anesthesia is needed
- Relief of symptoms
- No scarring
- Long lasting results
These are stockings that compress the veins in the legs. They do not treat or fix the problem that causes varicose veins. However, they often provide symptom relief and improve overall circulation. Compression hose are frequently used for short periods of time in conjunction with most vein treatments to improve their effectiveness.
Varicose vein disease is progressive and has no cure. New varicose veins may develop at any time. We recommend regular follow up for all types of treatments.
